From 24 to 26 May 2023, ECHO’s Project Coordinator, Laura Fedele, participated at the event called “Eurotherm Seminar: Innovative solutions for thermal energy storage deployment”. The event took place at the University of Lleida (Spain) and broght together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, who are working in the field of thermal energy storage (TES).

The most recent trends in such areas as novel storage materials, advanced storage concepts and configurations, TES for renewable energy systems, TES in buildings and industry, use of advanced techniques such as artificial intelligence in TES, and social, environmental, and educational aspects.

Theoretical, numerical, and experimental approaches were presented for the entire range of applications, from material characterization to complete storage systems. A workshop dedicated to on-going European projects was organised on May 24th: 22 projects were presented and discussed, to find synergies and knowledge exchange. Among them, also ECHO project was presented by the project coordinator, together with the TES cluster projects Hystore and Thumbs Up.
